Stern Grove & the Run That Hit Different

Stern Grove Festival. Final stop of the West Coast run.

Three cities on the West Coast with Al Green, the Hollywood Bowl as the centerpiece. But it was the final stop, the Stern Grove Festival, that hit different.

The Bowl was every bit as epic as they say. Stern Grove though, that was a whole other kind of magic. From the atmosphere to the artists to the people to the backdrop, simply fantastic. I couldn't resist pulling the camera out and grabbing some shots.

I'm on that stage with the legend Al Green, and I'm watching other legends do their thing on that same bill. Goapele, with her sweet soul and that quiet disposition, gave an iconic performance. All of it set in the middle of the most massive trees, planted right in the heart of nature. The most organic experience you could ask for.

This run was one for the books. Stern Grove just made my bucket list of places I want to come back and play.

more to come, more from the road in SIDENOTE.
