A room built around the stage. A night built around the music. A crowd built on relationships.

The New Blue Bamboo - 8/7/2026

Walking into the new Blue Bamboo room in Winter Park for the first time, you feel it immediately: the whole space revolves around the stage.

In most spots, people are just looking for a trendy cocktail or background noise. At Blue Bamboo, they came for the music. You can feel the enduring vision that Chris Cortez built into the DNA of this place, a sanctuary dedicated entirely to the art form. Sure, there was plenty of wine and crunchy popcorn going around, but what you actually saw in that 70% capacity room was pure appreciation, inspiration, and joy.

And the crew showed up. My mom, two sisters, and nephew pulled off a massive surprise and drove in from Tampa. Seeing community titans like Zita, who runs her own productions right there in that same venue, sitting in the audience makes you want to leave everything on the stage. When you have a top-tier production team running point, the room just breathes.

During the break, I didn't even go back to the green room. I stayed out in the crowd, talking to people. Some folks pulled out their phones to show me photos from gigs they attended ten years ago. That's the power of long-term relationships. They saw the ad, they came out, and they reminded me why we build this.

If you were in that room, thank you.
